If I were building an Escape Room or perhaps an Investigative Experience it would make sense to combine IoT Arduinos and RFID tags.
To start prototyping, I’d use the following:
- Purchase (2) Arduino Nano 33 IoT, since they have WiFi. (DONE)
- So that you could do an MVP, and then wire what you’ve built into props, I’d get (1) set of DEVMO Nano Screw Terminals. This also makes it easier to swap out Arduinos if you have a hardware failure or want to A/B test new code. (DONE)
- Then of course the RIFD tags, it would be more price efficient to buy (1) set of 6pc RFID Modules. (DONE)
This, combined with a Raspberry Pi as the main brain could build a solid MVP so you can get a feel for how the technology works plus test WiFi range. There are Arduinos that can take an external antennae if the distances start to impact reliability.
